Directions for your trip to Golden Eagle Lodge

Take Interstate I-35 or I-53 to Duluth, Minnesota. Travel on Hwy 61 to Grand Marais, MN (from Duluth to Two Harbors is the Expressway and the North Shore Scenic Drive). You will be traveling along side the beautiful Lake Superior with many interesting rest stops and points of interest.

When you come into Grand Marais proper, go thru town. At the east end of town turn left onto the Gunflint Trail (County Rd 12). Check your mileage and gauge approximately 27 miles. This will bring you to Clearwater Rd (Cty Rd 22, formerly Cty Rd 66). Turn right at the corner (it's the only way you can turn). Drive in about 2.5 miles to the entrance to our private road. Turn right, again the only way you can turn. Guess what? The last of the trip and you are here! Coffee's hot!

To assist you, there are "ladder signs" along the Gunflint Trail which give you the mileage left. At the entrances to Clearwater Rd and our private road, there are big reflectorized Golden Eagle Lodge signs.

Please keep in mind that cell phones will no longer work once you are part way up the Gunflint Trail and GPS is not always reliable in this area.
