Golden Eagle Lodge lives in the deep tranquility of ancient forests. Tucked away on Flour Lake near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, cross country skiers can explore an area once traveled by fur trappers. Three-million acres of pine, birch, balsam and aspen in the Superior National Forest are white-capped with an average of 120 inches of whispery powder throughout the winter. |

A well-marked network of more than 70 km of trails, groomed and tracked regularly with Kassboher Pisten Bully snowcats, begin curving away into pristine beauty right from your cabin’s doorsteps. Our trail system has been specifically built for this purpose and all trails are tracked for traditional skiing along with a portion for skate skiing. |
| Enjoy the romance of night skiing on Wolf Point, a 1.5 km loop near the lodge. We light this loop two nights a week with Kerosene Lanterns—a beautiful sight—and the remaining five nights with strings of Twinkling Electric Lights. The Aurora Borealis even kicks in every now and then for a dazzling late-night light show. |  |
| If you would like to do more than just skiing, try
Snowshoeing the Big Foot Trail, Ice Skating on our ice rink, or there are
opportunities for Dogsledding nearby. Stargazing or a walk on a moonlit
night create some unforgettable memories. More information about other Winter
activities is available on the 4 Seasons Winter page. At day’s end, take a turn in our private use sauna in the Lodge. Or relax in your Deluxe Cabin’s whirlpool tub. |

We also offer a heated waxing room in which you can prepare your skis for
the next day. The Cubbyhole features a waxing rack, electric plugins, and an
iron (in case you forget yours). It also serves as our Rental room, featuring
Fischer skis with Salomon bindings, Fischer boots, and Swix poles. Want to
