WELCOME TO GOLDEN EAGLE LODGE
ON THE GUNFLINT TRAIL
“Quiet…Spectacular…Solitude, you’ll find it here in any season.”
Unspoiled and unforgettable… Welcome to Golden Eagle Lodge, a family oriented, year round resort. We are located on Flour Lake in the Superior National Forest of Northeastern Minnesota, halfway up the historic Gunflint Trail. As the only residents on the lake, you can look forward to quiet and solitude. We offer fully equipped, modern housekeeping cabins to ensure comfort during your stay in the North Woods.
Each season has something special to offer, excellent fishing, hiking, sightseeing, and canoeing in Summer and nationally-renowned Nordic Cross-Country Skiing in Winter. Located a mere 2 miles from the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA), outdoor adventures can begin right at your doorstep. Our activities page will describe in detail all each season has to offer. We love the peace and quiet of the wilderness, thus no jet skis are allowed in summer and no snowmobiles are allowed in winter.
Try our 9-site campground which offers quiet and personal service with accommodations for tents and RVs. On site is a centralized dump station and two heated shower rooms and bathrooms. Each site has water and electric hookups.
We are a pet friendly resort. Don’t feel like you should have to leave that other member of your family behind! Golden Eagle Lodge accepts well-behaved pets in the campground and in 6 of our 11 cabins. Additional information can be found on our pet policy page.
If you need handicap accessible options, check out our handicap accessibility page. We offer 2 barrier free cabins as well as other options for camping and boating.
We go out of our way to ensure every aspect of your visit will convince you to come back and see us again. We know much time, effort and expense is invested in a vacation, and we are honored you’re considering us as a destination. You won’t be disappointed!
